The song Baby Shark Dance, produced by Korean pop label Pinkfong, isn't overly difficult. There are sharks, repetition, and a lot of existential dread in there, but that's about all. However, this song went to the top of the list and has spawned a slew of remixes that can be found all over YouTube.
To be honest, the success of Baby Shark Dance isn't all that shocking. If the only way to soothe your toddler down is to bring up Baby Shark and play it 12 times in a row, every parent with access to the internet will do just that. Baby Shark's reign as the most-watched video is likely to continue.

Despacito's ascension to the top of this list in 2017 shows two key aspects of YouTube. To begin with, it demonstrates that YouTube's popularity is ever-increasing. There was a period when no one anticipated Gangnam Style would be surpassed.
It also shows how YouTube has grown into a global phenomenon. The song Despacito, which means "Slowly" in Spanish, was written by Luis Fonsi and includes Daddy Yankee, a Puerto Rican rapper. Both musicians play the song in the La Perla neighborhood of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and at the local bar La Factora in the music video.
The song reached number one in 47 countries and number ten in ten more. It was the first time in 20 years that a Spanish song has reached the top of the Billboard 100.
Despacito became the first video on YouTube to reach the three and four billion viewing marks. In August 2017, it surpassed See You Again to become the all-time most popular video on YouTube.

Another children's video that made it to the top 10 most viewed videos on YouTube is Johnny Johnny Yes Papa. This is a short animated music video with cute, short lyrics. Johnny Johnny Yes Papa's melody is like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but with a bit more fun.
The nursery rhyme "Johnny Johnny Yes Papa" is in English. The song is about a young boy named Johnny who is caught eating sugar by his father. Variations on this topic are frequently continued in versions of this song with more than one verse.

The song reached number one in 44 nations' singles charts. It was the most popular song on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles list in 2017. At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.

See You Again was the video that ultimately broke "Gangnam Style's" reign on YouTube's #1 spot from July 10 to August 4, 2017. Despacito took over See You Again after only 25 days.
The fact that it was commissioned as the theme for the film "Furious 7" was the key cause for its success. It was composed in honor of the late actor Paul Walker, who was a fan favorite.
It's Wiz Khalifa's and Charlie Puth's most popular song to date. The song lasted 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard 100 in the United States, and it also charted at No. 1 in several other countries. It also set records for the most streams in a single day on Spotify in the United States, as well as the most streaming in a week globally and in the United Kingdom. Overall, See You Again was the world's best-selling song of 2015.

Educational videos for kids are slowly but steadily gaining traction in the top ten most popular YouTube videos of all time. In fact, Cocomelon's Bath Song has pushed Gangnam Style down to No. 10 on the chart, which is strange when you consider it. It's merely a short bath-time tune with a Baby Shark Dance-style chorus that's less than three minutes long. Despite this, it managed to beat off an internationally famous performer for a slot on this list.

Educational videos being among the most viewed content on YouTube isn’t surprising if you think of it like this: if kids are going to be staring at screens for a good amount of the day, it makes obvious that the programming of choice among parents would be free to access and, better yet, educational. Learning Colors Multi-Colored Eggs on the Farm from Miroshka TV is no exception. It's a children's educational film that has had over 4 billion views in the three years since it was first posted.
It's a five-minute film that uses animated eggs on a farm to teach young children about different colors. The film itself is narrated in Russian and teaches children the Russian names for various hues. The soundtrack (which is Old MacDonald Had a Farm in English) and any subtitles that appear are the only elements of the video that aren't in Russian (if you have them turned on). The video moves at a sluggish speed, and some sequences are a little protracted, but the humorous and ridiculous moments will appeal to younger viewers.

Masha and the Bear is a Russian animated television series largely based on a Russian folk tale for children. It is a Russian children's television series with four seasons and 68 episodes (to date). Netflix has a few episodes from the English-language edition.
Over time, all of the episodes were uploaded to YouTube, and three of them have surpassed one billion views.
Masha wears a folk costume and wears a head scarf, which is regarded to be one of the reasons for the show's appeal. Her thighs are hidden. As a result, Muslim viewers, even those in populous nations like Indonesia, have found the performance to be acceptable.

It's fair to say that Gangnam Style was an unexpected mega-hit, setting YouTube records that some thought would never be surpassed.
Psy mocks the Gangnam-gu neighborhood of Seoul in the video. "A showy district with high prices, high expectations, and a concentration on the high-status lifestyle," according to the description.
The video was published on Psy's official YouTube account on July 15, 2012. On November 24th of that year, Gangnam Style surpassed Justin Bieber's previous record of 803,700,000 views to become YouTube's most popular video. It remained at that position for a staggering 1,689 days.
Gangnam Style didn't take long to become the first video on YouTube to reach one billion views, achieving the honor in December 2012. In June 2014, it received 2 billion views, and in January 2018, it received 3 billion. A few additional YouTube records have been set by the video. Until February 2017, it was the most rated video, and until August 2016, it was the most loved video. It held the record for the fastest video to gain 1 billion views until Adele's Hello broke it on January 18, 2016. It continues to hold the distinction for being the most talked-about video.
