  1. Lilioceris lilii, also known as the Scarlet Lily Beetle, red lily beetle, or lily leaf beetle, is a species of leaf beetle that feeds on the leaves, stems, buds, and flowers of lilies, fritillaries, and other Liliaceae plants. It prefers Lilium and Fritillaria plants to deposit its eggs on. Fewer eggs are laid and the survival rate of eggs and larvae is lower in the absence of Lilium and Fritillaria species. In most temperate climates where lilies are grown, it is currently considered a pest.

The adult lily beetle has rather long legs and antennae and is between 6 and 9 mm in length. It has vivid scarlet and lustrous elytra (harder forewings). Its head, legs, eyes, antennae, and underside are all covered with black. It features a broad abdomen, huge eyes, and a narrow thorax. There are 11 segments on each antenna. There are two grooves on the thorax and the eyes are notched.

  2. Fire-Coloured Beetles are the beetles of the Pyrochroidae family. There are 30 genera and 150 species in this family. Many species in the subfamily Pyrochroinae have antennae that resemble combs or antlers in the males. Most former members of the extinct family Pedilidae are now included in this family as well.

Adults are 4-20 mm in length, while larvae are 25 mm. Pyrochroinae larvae are located beneath the wet bark of decaying trees. They most likely eat fungus, but if they are overcrowded, they could turn cannibalistic. Due to the fact that they do not bite, sting, or release toxic substances, fire-colored beetles are not thought to be dangerous to people. To completely comprehend these insects' characteristics and behavior, more study on them is necessary.

  3. The Goliath Beetles (named after the biblical giant Goliath) is any of the five species in the genus Goliathus. If size, bulk, and weight are taken into consideration, goliath beetles rank among the biggest insects on Earth. They belong to the Scarabaeidae family's subfamily Cetoniinae. Many of Africa's tropical woods are home to goliath beetles, which largely eat fruit and tree sap.

Although nothing is known about the larval life cycle of Goliathus beetles in the wild, they have been successfully raised in captivity from the egg to adulthood using protein-rich meals like a commercial cat and dog food. Goliath beetles can weigh up to 80–100 grams as larvae, however, the adults are only about half that heavy. Males are 60–110 millimeters in length, while females measure 50–80 millimeters. The females range from dark chestnut brown to silky white, but the males are normally brown/white/black or black/white.

  4. The Elephant Beetle (Megasoma elephas) is a member of the family Scarabaeidae and the subfamily Dynastinae. They are Neotropical rhinoceros beetles. They are located in southern Mexico, Central America, and South American rainforests.

Elephant beetles have a covering of tiny, microscopic hairs and are completely black in appearance. The beetle's elytra have extremely dense hair growth. The beetle's body is colored yellow by the hairs. Males have two horns that stick out of their heads and one that sticks out of their prothorax. Females are hornless. The males compete for food and mates while using their horns for defense. Elephant beetles range in size from 7 to 12 cm; males can occasionally be even larger. Males typically outweigh girls by a factor of two to three.

  5. The flat-faced longhorn beetle species known as Wallace's Long-Horn Beetle, or Batocera wallacei, belongs to the Lamiinae subfamily of the Cerambycidae family. The longhorn beetle was found on Indonesia's Aru Islands by Alfred Russel Wallace, who is honored by the species name. James Thomson gave it his name in 1858. This quite common species can be found in Australia (Queensland), Papua New Guinea, and the Moluccas (Aru Island, Kei Island).

The males of this enormous long-horned beetle grow to a length of around 80–85 millimeters, while the females are smaller. In men, the antenna's length can range from 215-230 millimeters. Greenish-brownish or grey is the primary color of the body, and the elytra have whitish dorsal patches. The larvae measure about four inches.

  6. The Atlas Beetle (Chalcosoma atlas) is a very large species of beetle in the family Scarabaeidae, found in Southeast Asia. The species is named for Atlas, the giant of Greek mythology who supported the skies. The Atlas beetle larva is renowned for its vicious behavior, which includes biting when handled. Unconfirmed accounts suggest that if a colony of larvae lacks food or space, they may battle to death.

Like other beetles in the genus Chalcosoma, the Chalcosoma atlas is notable for its size. Males in the Scarabaeidae often grow to a length of 60-120 millimeters, whilst females typically grow to a length of 25-60 millimeters. Males fight with each other using specialized horns on their heads and thorax in order to win the privilege to mate with females. The cephalic (head) horn of the Atlas beetle is wider than those of other Chalcosoma species, including C. caucasus.

  7. Blister Beetles are beetles of the family Meloidae, so called for their defensive secretion of a blistering agent, cantharidin. The family is thought to have begun diversifying during the Early Cretaceous. The oldest fossil of the group is a larva (triangulin) found phoretic on a schizopterid bug from the mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber, dated to around 99 million years ago.

The initial larval stage of blister beetles, which undergo hypermetamorphosis, is often a mobile triungulin. The larvae feed on insects, primarily attacking bees but also occasionally eating grasshopper eggs. The meloid larva, though occasionally referred to as parasitoids, generally appears to ingest the immature host along with its food and can frequently survive on the food alone; as a result, it is not an obligatory parasitoid but rather a facultative parasitoid, or just a kleptoparasite. The adults sometimes feed on flowers and leaves of plants of such diverse families as the Amaranthaceae, Asteraceae, Fabaceae, and Solanaceae

  8. Buprestidae is a family of beetles known as Jewel Beetles or metallic wood-boring beetles because of their glossy iridescent colors. Flathead borers are the name for the family's larvae. With over 15,500 species in 775 genera, the family is one of the largest among beetles. Additionally, descriptions of almost 100 fossil species have been made. Collectors of insects especially value the larger and more colorful jewel beetles. Some Buprestidae species' elytra have historically been employed in beetle wing jewelry and decorating in some Asian nations, including India, Thailand, and Japan.

Most species are under 20 mm in length and have a usually cylindrical or elongate to oval shape. Lengths can range from 3 to 80 mm. Many vibrant hues are well-known, and frequently arranged in intricate patterns. Instead of being created by pigments in the exoskeleton, these beetles' characteristic iridescence is a result of structural coloration, in which the cuticle's tiny structure selectively reflects certain light frequencies in particular directions. The many hues that a compact disc reflects are caused by the same process.

  9. Tiger Beetles are a large group of beetles, from the Cicindelinae subfamily, known for their aggressive predatory habits and running speed. Rivacindela hudsoni, the fastest species of tiger beetle now understood, has a top speed of 9 km/h (5.6 mph; 2.5 m/s), or roughly 125 body lengths per second. About 2,600 species and subspecies were known as of 2005, with the Neotropics and the Oriental (Indo-Malayan) regions having the highest diversity levels.

Broad, protruding eyes, long, slender legs, and large, curved mandibles are common features of tiger beetles. Both as adults and as larvae, all are predators. Tiger beetle larvae live in cylindrical holes that can be up to a meter deep. They are large-headed, hump-backed grubs that can flip backward to catch food insects that scurry across the ground. The swift adults chase after their prey while flying exceedingly quickly, with reaction times comparable to those of common houseflies. In the tropics, some tiger beetles are arboreal, while the majority run on the ground's surface.

  10. Chrysolina Americana, the common name Rosemary Beetle, is a species of beetle belonging to the family Chrysomelidae. The rosemary beetle was first spotted in the UK in London in 1994 and quickly spread through much of the UK. Native to southern Europe, the species probably arrived here on an imported rosemary plant. Some gardeners consider it a pest as the larvae and adults nibble a bit off rosemary or lavender leaves, but others appreciate it as a beautiful addition to their gardens.

The length of the Rosemary beetle can range from 5-8 millimeters. They have vibrant elytra with longitudinal metallic green and purple streaks. These beetles can fly briefly because of their tiny wings, but the majority of them prefer to walk. Late summer is when females lay their eggs on the leaves of the host plants in the Mediterranean region. The bands on the larvae range from white to black. In the winter, larval development continues. Three weeks or so are spent in the pupal stage. In the spring, the imago is made available.
