A-Ma Temple: An Ancient Temple

The A-Ma Temple was founded in 1488 and is dedicated to the Chinese Goddess Matsu, who is revered by sailors and fishermen. The ancient temple is one of Macau's most popular tourist attractions. This temple is thought to be the inspiration for Macaus' name. The temple is known for its magnificent architecture, décor, style, and overall design, all of which combine to make it one of Macau's most important tourist attractions. The temple is divided into six sections, each of which has its own spiritual significance.

This Chinese temple, inspired by the Goddess Mazu shrine, is one of the most popular Macau tourist attractions for those with a spiritual bent. The temple's architecture is the most striking feature, with its six wings, stone lion guarded entrance, poems inscribed on the hall walls, and the imposing image of the goddess lying ahead.
