If you have an accounting degree and a CPA license, then becoming a full-time accountant is a no-brainer. Remember that being an accountant requires detailed and meticulous work. An accountant and/or a bookkeeper is responsible for the finances of the company including the funds coming in from sales, funds dispersed to pay for overhead costs, and funds invested for possible business expansion.

In addition, not all companies rely on the same accounting practices as not all do business in the same industry or serve the same clients. Also, understanding the financial backbone of the organization you will be working for is essential for you to be effective on the job.
