Akasa Air, a distinguished brand under SNV Aviation Private Limited, has emerged as a prominent player in the Indian aviation sector. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, this low-cost airline was founded by the dynamic duo of Vinay Dube and Aditya Ghosh, accompanied by the substantial investment of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who holds a noteworthy 46% stake in the airline.
Setting its maiden flight on 7th August 2022, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Akasa Air marked the beginning of its commercial operations with the introduction of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The airline strategically focuses on connecting metro cities with tier-2 and tier-3 cities, along with operating flights to major destinations across India.
As of November 2023, Akasa Air successfully operates 20 aircraft, serving 16 destinations, and has a pending order for an additional 56 aircraft, emphasizing its commitment to growth.
