Go First Airlines

Founded on 4th November 2005 by Jeh Wadia of the Wadia Group, Mumbai-based Go First, formerly known as GoAir. With its maiden flight taking off on the same day, the airline embarked on a journey marked by strategic growth and a commitment to service excellence.

Stepping into a competitive arena in 2005, Go First initially operated just one Airbus A320 across four destinations, including Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Goa, and Coimbatore. The airline envisioned a robust expansion plan, aiming for 36 new aircraft and an extended destination map by 2008. While the actual number of aircraft was lesser, Go First successfully connected the North-eastern and Southern regions of India.

As of 2023, Go First boasts a modern fleet of 57 Airbus A320 aircraft, facilitating over 200 daily flights that link 41 destinations. This includes a comprehensive network of 31 domestic and 10 international destinations, positioning Go First as a versatile choice for both domestic and international travelers.

Throughout its 17 years of operations, Go First has garnered numerous accolades, reinforcing its commitment to quality and efficient service. Notably, the airline was named the "Best Domestic Airline for Excellence in Quality and Efficient Service" by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association in 2008. Airbus also recognized Go First in 2011 as the "Best Performing Airline" among all Airbus A320 operators in Asia and Africa, underscoring its fleet utilization and performance metrics.

While Go First may not have replicated the success of some of its counterparts, it has established itself as the fifth-largest airline in the Indian market in 2012, a notable achievement, especially in the aftermath of the Kingfisher Airlines collapse. Presently holding a 7.8% share of the domestic market, Go First provides a compelling choice for travelers.
