Akchour Waterfalls
The Akchour Waterfalls are a well-known attraction for both locals and visitors. They are situated in the Rif Valley, not far from Chefchaouen, Morocco's picturesque blue town. Before beginning the climb to the main falls, there is a tiny dam, an artificial fall, and a pool where you can swim.
You may reach the small falls by going around the dam to the left and climbing for about an hour. Continue for another hour or so to reach the breathtaking great falls after taking a break and taking a few pictures. With some moderately difficult sections where you must bridge streams using shaky steppingstones, the trail meanders past olive trees, pinkish rocks, and gorgeous hibiscus flowers. Watch your balance! Water cascades from about 30 metres high, coming down a cut-in in the rocks to meet the clear pool at the bottom. Swimming is possible here.
