Amazon Rainforest
When most people think of the Amazon Rainforest, they immediately think of Brazil. This massive jungle, on the other hand, spans nine countries and encompasses over 302,000 square miles of rainforest within Peru's boundaries. Furthermore, Peru is the only South American country where you may see all of the different types of rainforest. In truth, the Amazon begins in Peru, snaking its way down from Carhuasanta through the Andes mountains and out the other side into the Amazon basin.
The Peruvian Amazon jungle is the most diversified and fertile of them all. In reality, this rainforest is home to the world's most complex and biodiverse ecosystem, with a plethora of iconic species. Manu National Park in Peru is one of the world's most biodiverse places, with over 1,000 bird species and over 200 mammal species.
As a result, for nature enthusiasts, the Amazon is one of the best places to visit in Peru. From the charming capybara to the elusive jaguar, the beautiful pink river dolphin to the snapping caiman crocodile, visitors to the rainforest are likely to fall in love with the awe-inspiring wildlife on display.
