American International School in Abu Dhabi
The American International School in Abu Dhabi (AISA) is a private K-12 institution. It delivers an American curriculum alongside college-preparatory programs like the IB Diploma Program (IBDP) and the IB Primary Years Program.
Specifically, the curriculum varies across grade levels. For instance, Kindergarten to grade 5 adheres to the U.S. Curriculum within the IB Primary Years Program (IB-PYP); on the other hand, grades 6 to 9 follow the American curriculum. High school students can opt between the U.S. High School Diploma or the IB Diploma Program, while secondary students' works are evaluated using Standard-Based Grading (SBG)
On another note, AISA also boasts a comprehensive array of facilities, including two libraries, a prayer mosque, dedicated rooms for art, music, and drama, along with multiple sports amenities such as a swimming pool, gymnasiums, AstroTurf pitches, basketball courts, and sports fields catering to soccer tournaments and significant outdoor events.
With a diverse student body representing around 75 countries, the school hosts approximately 1,380 students across three educational tiers: elementary (700 students), middle school (395 students), and high school (650 students). While the elementary level maintains a coeducational structure, the secondary level follows gender segregation.
