From November to January, Amsterdam glows with dozens of mild installations that remove darkness from buildings, enhance the bridges, and replicate withinside the canals. The Amsterdam Light Festival has a distinct subject matter every year, and illumination artists have loose reign to interpret it, with awesome results. Most presentations are withinside the Canal Ring and the Amstel River areas.

Some presentations are static: a twinkling spider poised above a bridge, butterflies soaring over a canal, and others appear by no means to prevent as they sweep in styles throughout the fronts of buildings.

In addition to the artists' contributions, bridges are mentioned in white lighting that replicates withinside the canals below. With all of the water to mirror the shapes and colors, the display is a continuously changing one, especially while considered even as shifting at the water in a canal boat.
