Animation and Art Style

The last season brought about a notable transformation in the series's artistry and animation, as WIT Studio handed over production responsibilities to MAPPA. Initially, concerns arose about this transition, but MAPPA successfully maintained the series' essence while introducing noticeable alterations.

A prominent shift was observed in the integration of CGI, skillfully executed by V-sign at MAPPA. The CGI Titans, considered the best-looking in the series, displayed fluid movements and proportions faithful to the manga. The seamless blending of CGI with the surroundings made it challenging to distinguish whether a Titan was CGI from a static image.

Character designs also evolved due to a time skip, though some viewers expressed reservations about occasional choppiness in the animation and dissatisfaction with the CGI for titan shifters. Despite these criticisms, the overall reception of the art style and animation has been positive, acknowledging MAPPA's successful adaptation of the series' visual elements.
