ArmorGroup International is a private security firm based in the United Kingdom. It was created in 1981 and traded on the London Stock Exchange until June 6, 2008, when it was delisted (it was acquired by G4S plc in April 2008). ArmorGroup specializes in protective security, risk management consulting, security training, and mine action. Afghanistan, Bahrain, Colombia, Iraq, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Sudan are among the nations where it has 38 offices.
The International Peace Operations Association (IPOA), the British Association of Private Security Companies (BAPSC), and the Private Security Company Association of Iraq are all founding members (PSCAI). Noel Philp, Chief Operating Officer, Matthew Brabin, M.D., and Christopher Beese, Chief Administrative Officer, lead ArmorGroup.
It made a profit of $9.2 million in 2007, with a $295 million revenue. G4S plc made a £43.6 million cash bid for the company on March 20, 2008, according to the company's board of directors. On April 29, 2008, the acquisition was completed. Despite the fact that ArmorGroup North America, Inc. still exists, G4S has essentially discarded the "ArmorGroup" moniker.
