Ash Hilton
Ash Hilton started making jewelry in 2003 after years of slogging away as a chef in kitchens in New Zealand and on yachts overseas. Loving the way materials influenced the design and the design influenced the materials, Ash finally found a way to express all those good ideas he had floating around his head while whisking hollandaise.
With lots of help and advice from his galleries, Ash Hilton was able to quit his day job and work on jewelry full-time in 2005. Around this time, he started training up his sister Siggy to do finishing work and she’s been in the workshop ever since.
In Ash Hilton, Alluvial gold is a totally different story. Even the biggest operations, using large-scale machinery, have a much lower impact than hardrock mining. They have a lovely supplier in the United States that provides them with gemstones that are mined ethically and are traceable, which means they know the whole life of the stone from the ground to the cutting facility.
All of Ash Hilton's pieces are 100% guaranteed for life. They will happily fix any mistakes for free. Rings with stones or custom designs often can't be resized but need to be remade. In this case, they charge a $100 remake fee. They highly recommend ordering a test ring if you’re ordering one of these designs.
