Sophie launched Sophie Divett Jewellery in 2012 - starting from humble beginnings with a small bench set up in her bedroom. She then moved to two other locations as the business has continued to grow, before settling into their current Sydenham workshop and gallery in 2023.

Sophie Divett Jewellery creates ethically and sustainably handmade jewellery in Christchurch, New Zealand - including engagement rings, ceremonial bands, necklaces and earrings - which are inspired by the landscapes and plants of Aotearoa.

SDJ creations are inspired by ancient artefacts, classical Greek mythology, and Aotearoa’s dramatic landscapes, terrains, mountain ranges, night skies, flora, and fauna. Their signature collections feature castings from real leaves, seed pods and other plants, immortalising every detail and texture in precious metals.

Wedding and ceremonial bands are a large part of what they do. They craft every ring to order in your desired specifications. You can choose from their collection of SDJ organic ring designs and textures, you can then customise your band width, metal, carat, and size, which they will then bring to life.
