Asim Abbas
Asim served as a civil servant in the telecommunications department for 9 years, including the Minister of Communications (T&C). After retiring from public service in 2000, 5 years at 2 top law firms in India, 3 years as Vice President (Legal) at Bharti Airtel Ltd, 3 years as Managing Partner at Legal Spectrums, Khaitan & Co, SAM and CAM. Asim currently works as a partner for L&L Partners.
Asim participated in the ITU Regional Customs Group for Asia and Oceania in the Maldives, the ITU Meeting in Geneva (Study Group 3), the APT Meeting in Seoul and the Maldives. He participated in a study of the payment rate system sponsored by the ITU. He also attended a spectrum management course in Ottawa, Canada.
Asim served as a visiting professor for two years at the Indian Institute of Telecommunications and Insurance Laws at FORE School of Management for three years.
