Banias Waterfall
Banias Waterfall offers one of the country's most exquisitely serene locations. The Banias spring, which is located in the Banias Nature Reserve in the Golan, comes from the foot of Mount Hermon, Israel's tallest mountain, and flows for about 3.5 kilometers down a gorge before arriving at Israel's greatest waterfall.
It is a waterfall created from a natural spring that rises on Mount Hermon, Israel's tallest mountain. In Israel, the Banias waterfall is reachable in 15 minutes of hiking through a thick forest reserve. The river Jordan is eventually joined by the cool spring water that is dangerously cascading into the gorge. A few harmless creatures and birds can be seen relaxing in the cool air created by the water in the vicinity, which is surrounded by caves and rocks. A few kilometers away, the Banias Nature Reserve offers views of old city ruins that are partially concealed by dense vegetation and tell stories of a brilliant past.
If you're lucky, you might come across flocks of rock doves or the rock hyrax, a small terrestrial mammal that resembles a guinea pig and shelters amid the cracks and fissures in rocks. Admission is around INR 500 per person.
