Bankinter
Spanish-based financial services provider Bankinter, S.A. has its headquarters in the Spanish capital of Madrid. Since 1972, it has been traded on the Bolsa de Madrid and is included in the Ibex 35 Index. In 1965, Banco Santander and Bank of America formed a partnership to form this bank specifically for the industrial sector.
Bankinter is worth $5.50 billion as of April 2023. Based on its current market capitalization, BankInter is the 2257th most valuable corporation in the world. Bankinter has reported TTM revenue of $2.36 billion in its most recent financial report. The company's revenue in 2021 was $2.31 billion, up from $2.12 billion in the previous year.
Bankinter announced in September 2015 that it had acquired Barclays' retail business in Portugal, including 84 locations, as well as Barclays Life and Pensions, a joint venture between Bankinter and Mapfre. The acquisition of Barclays' Portuguese business cost the bank almost €100 million plus another €37.5 million for a 50% stake in a Portuguese insurance firm. In May of this year (2019), Bankinter bought EVO Banco, bringing with it 452,000 additional customers.
