Behr
Behr Paint Company sells architectural paint and exterior wood care products to do-it-yourself in the United States and Canada. Interior and exterior house paints, decorative finishes, primers, stains, and surface preparation products are all manufactured by BEHR and offered only at The Home Depot.
Behr began in 1947 when Otho Behr, Jr. sold linseed oil wood stains from the back of his station wagon to paint retailers. Behr asked his father, a scientist, about developing a redwood stain mix. As a consequence of the company's expansion, Behr relocated its operations to an 800 square foot Quonset hut near Pasadena, California in 1948. In the early 1950s, Behr transferred the firm to its current location in Santa Ana, California, as it grew faster than its previous location. The demand for paints, lights, wallpaper, and other commodities has increased as the house resale industry has increased.
