Belstaff

Ineos, a British chemicals corporation, owns the clothing brand Belstaff. Eli Belovitch and his son-in-law Harry Grosberg formed the company in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, in 1924. The name Belstaff is a mix of Eli's surname and the town of Belstaff in Staffordshire. Belstaff was the first business to utilize wax cotton in the production of waterproof motorcycle clothing.

Belstaff, a company favored by everyone from A-list celebrities to the Pope, has been producing motorbike gear since the 1920s. While the British company offers a variety of leather jacket types, its long, belted variants are possibly its most well-known. Look for hand-waxed choices for a real worn-in feel that will ensure your jacket only gets better with age. It is also a water-repellent coating, so you should feel comfortable wearing it in light rain.

Belstaff is a well-known brand, and by 1930, their clientele included some notable bikers and other adventures. Joe Wright, who held the motorcycle lap record at Brooklands from 1925 to 1935, was one of them. T.E Lawrence, an explorer and motorcyclist, was another. Amy Johnson, the first female pilot to fly alone from England to Australia, and aviatrix Amelia Earhart were two renowned female Belstaff customers at the time.
