Betterware de Mexico
A multi-level marketing business called Betterware offers household goods in the UK. The business, which was established in 1928, has had a number of proprietors. The Betterware trademarks are now owned by Betterware Global Ltd., which acquired them when Betterware's previous owner, Stanley House Distribution, filed for bankruptcy in 2018.
In 1928, the business was established in East London and offered brushes door-to-door. Betterware replaced the old name of Betterwear in 1970 to represent a wider range of goods. It was transported from Romford, Essex, to Castle Vale, Birmingham, by Stanley Cohen in 1983 for the price of £253,000. In the early 1990s, when its share price increased from roughly 20p to more than 250p, it was one of the best-performing shares on the stock market. It became a public corporation in 1986.
In 1997, when the company was worth £117 million, Cohen sold his stake in it. The company offered a variety of goods, including furniture, kitchen and home storage items, mobility assistance, and personal care items.
