Blue Dart Aviation, a subsidiary cargo airline, operates in South Asian countries. DHL Express formed a business connection with Blue Dart in 2002, and on November 8, 2004, DHL Express invested €120 million in the company, becoming a major shareholder since then.
In November 1983, Akhlaque (chairman) and his buddies Khushroo Dubash and Clyde Cooper created Blue Dart. Blue Dart had a business partnership with Gelco Express International, UK, in the early years of its existence for the operation of international air package express services from India.
It began offering consumers ′cash on delivery (COD)′ as an extra payment option for its courier services in 2010–11. For the company's distribution networking, Khushroo Dubash began research on a "Hub and Spoke" concept. Blue Dart Express now serves over 35,000 pin codes in India and over 220 countries across the world.
