Another great piano maker from Germany, this one is in Leipzig. In 1853, Julius Blüthner founded the company which is still run and managed by the Blüthner family. 47 years later (in 1900), Blüthner had become the largest piano manufacturer in Germany, producing more than 5000 instruments a year. Blüthners remains renowned for the quality of its pianos and the sound quality of Blüthner brand pianos is said to be clear. Wilhem Kempff, the renowned pianist, hails their pianos as "precise" and of "unparalleled beauty".


Bluthner Pianos can stand the test of time with good maintenance, and artists Rima Chacaturian, Billy Childs and Ying Feng love this brand of Piano. Bluthners are the go-to choice for those who value tradition and creativity, with an enduringly memorable sound. A Blüthner Grand was the first piano to be used in an air show, the company built a piano for the famous airship Hindenburg that crossed the Atlantic with this piano.
