Bono

Bono (born Paul David Hewson on May 10, 1960) is an Irish singer-songwriter, activist, and philanthropist. He is the rock band U2's lead vocalist and principal lyricist.

Through his expressive vocal style, dramatic gestures, and songs, Bono quickly established himself as the band's impassioned frontman. His songs usually feature social and political issues, as well as religious imagery based on his Christian beliefs. Bono's words contributed to U2's rebellious and spiritual tone in its early years. His lyrics got more motivated by personal experiences shared with the other members as the band grew older. Bono has 22 Grammy Awards to his name and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of U2.

Bono
is a social justice crusader, both through U2 and as an individual, in addition to his music. He is especially active in Africa-related campaigns, having co-founded DATA, EDUN, the ONE Campaign, and Product Red. He has attended charity concerts and lobbied politicians and heads of state for relief in support of these causes. Bono has been recognized for his charitable work.

Bono takes 9th place in the list of the richest singers in the world with an estimated net worth of $700 million.
