British School Jakarta
Established in 1974 with support from The British Embassy, British School Jakarta (BSJ) has been providing an exceptional education for internationally mobile students in Jakarta. Starting as the British International School, it later became the British School Jakarta in 1976.
BSJ offers a unique learning experience for students of all ages, from Kindergarten to Secondary School. A dedicated team of experienced teachers, wellbeing counselors, and University Counselling staff supports students in their academic and personal growth.
The curriculum is designed to spark a love for learning in every student. In Primary School, they blend the English National Curriculum with an inquiry-based approach, allowing students to explore and discover.
This seamless transition continues into the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), IB Career-related Programme (IB CP), and IB Diploma Programme (IB DP). Prioritizing student wellbeing, they partner with the Langley Group, providing the Compassionate Systems Framework in Schools Wellbeing Programme.
BSJ believes in nurturing well-rounded individuals, offering over 260 extracurricular activities in sports, the arts, and STEM fields. Students have opportunities to participate in local and regional activities, leagues, and performing arts festivals organized by FOBISIA and SEASAC.
With a diverse community of over 1400 students from 50+ countries, BSJ celebrates inclusivity and collaboration. Placing the individual student at the heart of the learning process, they provide an inquiry-based, active, engaging, and dynamic education.
