Brno University of Technology
Brno Institution of Technology is a Czech university that is located in Brno. It expanded from a single civil engineering course in 1899 to become a major technical Czech university with over 18,000 students enrolled in eight faculties and two university institutes.
The rector, who is represented by five prorectors in diverse domains of activity, is the university's leader. The bursar is in charge of BUT's finances, while the public relations officer, in collaboration with the Unit of External Relations, is in charge of communication and promotion. The Academic Senate, which consists of an employee and a student chamber, debates and approves important documents and norms. The Scientific Council, which includes BUT experts, other universities, and business, defines the scientific orientation of BUT.
The dean and his vice-deans are in charge of each faculty. In addition, each faculty has its own academic senate, which is solely responsible for the faculty's laws. Likewise, each faculty has its own scientific council. BUT has a number of student organizations known as Student Unions for historical reasons. Students have the chance to engage in the management of their faculty through a student chamber that represents them in the Academic Senate.
