Brukkaros
Brukkaros Mountain is situated in ǁKaras Region, Namibia. Measuring 1,590 metres at its peak, Brukkaros is located about 15 kilometres northeast of the primarily Nama town of Berseba. It towers over 600 meters above the surrounding region. This mountain looks like a volcanic crater, but it was in fact formed by an upwelling of magma millions of years ago. This kind of formation is called a caldera, and it is why the mountain has the distinctive shape we see today.
This mountain stands out in the plains of Namibia's Karas Region at 1,590 meters above sea level, yet it is often overlooked in guidebooks and tour planners, thus it is not well-known. As a result, this mountain will be very deserted, so please be aware that you will need to arrive well prepared. Once you reach the top of the mountain, there is no flowing water, no fuel, and no places to stock up on food. If you run out of supplies, then your only option is to stock up at the town of Berseba, 12km away.
