With 7.8 billion streams, the group BTS is the only representative of the Korean entertainment sector to rank among the top most played artists globally on Spotify, outperforming numerous well-known figures in the US and UK music industries. Even though it didn't win first place, this accomplishment made the Kpop fandom proud, especially because the previous years were marked by BTS's great performances.

BTS surpassed all other artists in terms of Spotify streams as of April 2022, with roughly 16.3 billion streams (Coldplay group had previously held this record). BTS is now one of the most successful groups in history, having won a record-breaking 23 trophies, according to the Guinness World Records. BTS made history earlier this year as a Korean pop artist to receive a Grammy for the first time.
