Bucharest-Beirut International School
Bucharest-Beirut International School (BBIS) opened in 2003 and is the next IB school in Romania approved by the Lebanese and Romanian governments. The school focuses on giving students a well-rounded education. In 2017, BBIS became an official International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Diploma Programme (DP). In 2021, it also started offering the Primary Years Programme of the IB.
The school's curriculum goes from Early Years to Year 12 and is based on inquiry-based learning. It starts with the Primary Years Programme (PYP), goes through the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and ends with the Diploma Programme (DP). At the heart of this curriculum is the IB Learner Profile, which aims to create lifelong learners and future global citizens.
BBIS focuses on helping students grow their abilities, encouraging them to explore, discover, and improve their skills. They work to make students knowledgeable, self-confident, and responsible, ready to face challenges with curiosity, honesty, and a love for learning.
The teachers at BBIS are highly qualified, with Bachelor’s, Master's degrees and Doctorates. They bring valuable experience from their home countries and other international schools. They also keep improving their skills through ongoing professional development. BBIS provides regular training sessions and workshops for its staff to ensure they can teach effectively and adapt to the changing needs of their students.
