Carhartt
American clothing firm Carhartt, Inc. was established in 1889 and is well-known for its heavy-duty workwear, including coats, jackets, overalls, coveralls, vests, shirts, trousers, dungarees, and gear that is fire resistant and designed for hunting. The descendants of founder Hamilton Carhartt now own Carhartt, which is still a family-run business with its main office in Dearborn, Michigan.
Construction workers, miners, farmers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts favor Carhartt's full-cut, wind- and snag-resistant, heavy-duty work jackets. Additionally, Carhartt has been effective in extending its appeal to everyday streetwear. Plain Carhartt jackets are produced in neutral hues including mustard, khaki, and navy blue. Typically, they are waist- or three-quarter-length. Most are constructed with triple-stitched seams from rather sturdy 12-ounce cotton canvas. Additionally, Carhartt produces pants and overalls in the same hues and materials as its coats. Carhartt jackets are normally cut wide around the middle to accommodate substantial men.
