Carib Cargo

Carib Cargo, a sunken cargo ship and popular diving location for all skill levels, is located on the outskirts of the Man of War Shoal Marine Park. The wreck, also known as the Carib Ghost, sunk under Hurricane Bertha's fury. It currently has an incredible variety of sea life that would enthrall any divers passing by. Stingrays are attracted to the sandy bottom surroundings, which are a popular attraction.

For divers and underwater photographers alike, the crystal clear visibility offers a great window to the undersea world. Look for reef sharks, sea turtles, moray eels, lobsters, snapper schools, and eagle rays as you explore. You could even get a glimpse of a playful dolphin now and again. Hurricane Luis destroyed the wreck of the Carib Cargo / RoRo / Carib Ghost in 1995.

The yacht was anchored in front of Philipsburg for a year before being swept away by Hurricane Bertha in 1996. Carib Cargo was discovered later and is currently regarded as one of the most beautiful wreck dives on Saint Martin. Trevally schools, French grunts, and yellow snapper Stingrays, reef sharks, and green sea turtles may be seen. In and around the wreck, there are spiny lobsters. Many visitors consider this to be one of the Best Diving Sites in Saint Martin (France).
