Cathédrale Notre Dame de Lourdes

The Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Bobo-Dioulasso, is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Bobo-Dioulasso.

Located between the train station and Bobo 1 central market, it was completed in 1961 after construction began in 1957 by Daniel Ouezzin Coulibaly. Cathédrale Notre Dame de Lourdes is one of the most beautiful historical sites in Burkina Faso.

Due to the nature of the materials used for construction plus the long construction. Bobo-Dioulasso church was in a severe state of disrepair. Therefore, the restoration of the church is very necessary. Restoration works for this church kicked off in July 2020. These works involve more than the roof of the building, the interior coatings, the electrical system, the sound system, as well as the other structures. Adjacent rooms include worship rooms and churches.
