Chavagnes International College
Chavagnes International College is a Catholic boarding school for boys in France that follows the classical English education tradition. CIC focuses on providing a well-rounded education, including sports, arts, and choral music. Emulating medieval collegiate life, students and teachers share activities like prayer, meals, work, and study.
Situated in the west of France, near Nantes and Montaigu, Chavagnes International College has a rich history as a Roman villa, a thirteenth-century monastery, and later a junior seminary founded in 1802. It embarked on a new journey in 2002 by becoming an international Catholic boarding school for boys.
Admission to the College involves satisfactory references from a teacher, preferably a priest, along with evidence of at least good academic performance. Parents must provide samples of the last three school reports or, for homeschooled children, examples of the child's written work and a written parental appreciation. Entrance tests may also be required.
Boarding students reside in one of two dormitories. Junior boys have a single dorm with about 20 beds, individual showers, and a block of toilets. Senior boys stay in 4-bed rooms with a similar toilet and shower block within the Senior Dorm. Tea-making facilities are available during free time, and the College provides morning and afternoon tea, biscuits, and fresh fruit. A tuck shop offers sweets, drinks, and snacks.
Students can access games rooms, pianos, the library, and sports facilities such as tennis, basketball, and football courts during their free time. Supervised internet access in the Computer Room allows boys to stay connected with family and friends online.
