École Jeannine Manuel Lille
École Jeannine Manuel is a French, bilingual, and international school that started in 1954. Its mission is to promote understanding between people from different countries by teaching students in two languages. It's also part of UNESCO. École Jeannine Manuel Lille has over 880 students, from nursery to twelfth grade, from more than fifty countries. About 120 students also live at the school.
The boarding area was recently renovated and is like a nice hotel. It's a comfortable place for students who live there. The school also has excellent sports facilities, including a big gym, a racing track, and fields for playing different sports. There are many activities for students outside of class. The people who work in the boarding area take care of students and make sure they are doing well.
École Jeannine Manuel is approved by the French Ministry of Education, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the Council of International Schools (CIS), and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Students follow a unique bilingual curriculum. In eleventh grade, they can choose between two paths, one leading to a French diploma (with an American option) and the other to the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). The students do well in their exams, and the school is consistently ranked among the top schools in France.
For younger students, there are clubs after school from Monday to Friday. These include things like art, music, sports, and cultural activities. Older students have many options, like coding, theater, yoga, photography, and sports. École Jeannine Manuel also has a Chess Club and a Debate Club where students can prepare for tournaments. Students are encouraged to participate in school activities through clubs like the Student Council and the Eco-School clubs.
