David Bowie
David Bowie was an English singer-songwriter who was well-known for his musical creativity and visual presentation. He was well-known for the creativity he put into his works. He was a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist, arranger, painter, and actor with a diverse personality. Born and bred in Brixton, south London, he had an early interest in music and was particularly affected by Elvis Presley. He immediately began performing Presley songs at the local Wolf Cub group and began learning to play the ukulele, tea-chest bass, and piano. Soon, there was no doubt in his mind that he was meant to be a singer. His ascension to celebrity, however, did not come easily.
Despite his talent and perseverance, he battled greatly throughout his early years as a vocalist before establishing himself. With his Ziggy Stardust stage show, he achieved the pinnacle of his success - his colorful outfits and androgynous appearance became an iconic part of his persona. He was a vocal sensation in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and he continued to perform and experiment with musical styles such as "industrial" and "jungle" into the 1990s and 2000s. He stayed active in music till the end of his life, dying of cancer in 2016.
