Davika Hoorne
Thai actress, model, and singer Davika Hoorne, also known as Mai, made her acting debut in 2010.
Davika was conceived in Bangkok by a Belgian father and a Thai mother. After her father retired in 2014, Davika purchased a home for him and his new family to reside in Thailand. Davika graduated from Kevalee International School in Bangkok with a high school diploma, and she is now doing her bachelor's degree in communication arts at Rangsit University's international program.
In 2010, Davika began her career as a model before making her acting debut as the female lead in the television series Ngao Kammathep. She gained notoriety with the films Heart Attack aka 'Freelance', which was directed by renowned independent filmmaker Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit for GTH and won eight Golden Swans at the Subannahongsa Award. With her performance as "Mae Nak" in Pee Mak Phra Khanong, a hugely popular film that brought in Thailand over 1 billion baht, she solidified her popularity in 2013. In several Asian and Australian cities, Pee Mak was a box office success.
She has received several honors for her work, including Best Actress at the 25th Subannahongsa Awards for her film "Freelance," Best Actress at the Bangkok Critics Assembly Awards for two years running, and Best Actress at the Thai Film Director Awards. She received the "36th Global Arts and Television Huading Awards" for Best Global Teleplay Leading Actress in 2023.
