Urassaya Sperbund
Thai actress and model Urassaya Sperbund is most popularly known by her stage name Yaya. She has won various honors, including three Mekhala Awards, a Suphannahong National Film Award, a Maya Award, and a TV Gold Award.
On March 18, 1993, Sperbund was born in Pattaya. Sigurd, her father, is Norwegian and a former stockbroker. Her mother Urai was a domestic worker who was born in Thailand. One elder sister, Cattreya, exists for her. Prior to going to Bangkok Patana School in 2009, Sperbund attended Regent's International School Pattaya. She earned a Spanish language Faculty of Arts degree from Chulalongkorn University in 2015.
At the age of 13, Sperbund accepted her first modeling job after being noticed at Chatuchak Park. She was asked by a casting director to participate in Genie Young Care Cologne advertisements, but she declined because of travel challenges. She ultimately went back to modeling after Sombatsara Teerasaroch contacted her. The family moved to Bangkok to assist Sperbund in breaking into the entertainment world. She soon began participating in picture shoots and making appearances in Mr.D. and C-Quint music videos.
In 2008, Sperbund made her television debut in the Channel 3 sitcom Peun See Long Hon, in which she also had a co-starring part. In her free time, Urassaya enjoys reading. Meg Cabot, Nicholas Sparks, Sophie Kinsella, and Cecelia Ahern are some of her favorite authors. Historical romance books are her preferred literary subgenre.
