De Druif (The Grape)
For at least 400 years, 'The Grape' has been satisfying the thirst of the inhabitants. It was granted a liquor license in 1631 and is said to have served departing sailors as early as the 1580s. De Druif feels like a step back in time, with wooden casks adorning the walls and dozens of old earthenware jenever bottles behind the bar. De Druif was once a distillery (Likeurstokerij), as evidenced by the spirit barrels lining the walls behind the bar, the gas chandelier lighting, and the carpet-covered tables that are so characteristic of a Dutch bruincafé. On the wide pavement in front of the building, De Druif also offers a lovely and calm terrace.
