Dicks Sweets is a family-run business that has been trading since 1938. They produce a wide range of products with each one offering an individual taste sensation. Their range consists of chocolate-coated and engraved products as well as traditional confections such as Nougat, Fudges, Turkish Delight, Coconut Ices, Honeycomb, and Novelty Candies to name a few. Dicks Sweets is now in its 4th generation. They continue to hand make all their products using the same recipes as before.

In a world dominated by corporations, with most of the sweets, you can buy from multinationals like Nestle and Cadbury, the value of a small family-run business since 1938 should not be underestimated. All the sweets are handcrafted and incredibly cheap - Acid Drops and Lime Squares, and they're a ridiculous R7.50 a packet. And they also sell some great savory products now, including awesome Wasabi-coated peanuts, which are not for the faint of heart. The gelatin used by Dicks is Halaal but unfortunately not vegetarian friendly. The Lime Squares, Acid Drops, and more are safe for vegetarians though! You can find stores at Impala Center, corner of Beyers Naude Drive, and Hocky Avenue, Northcliff.
