Digital Health Specialization
This specialisation introduces students to the rapidly evolving and multidisciplinary field of digital health, as well as the role and application of digital health technologies such as mobile apps, wearables, health information systems, telehealth, telemedicine, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data. In order to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of these services, these digital health technologies are evaluated in terms of their prospects and limitations in addressing real-world public health and health care system concerns. The goal of this specialization is to educate students for the new digital era in public health and health care across the world.
This specialisation's design and implementation of digital health treatments section covers design thinking, regulatory methods, ethical issues, technological adoption, implementation, and strategy in the context of digital health. This course's evaluation component focuses on data considerations in digital health, data management, and the evaluation of digital health interventions, with an emphasis on experimental and quasi-experimental design approaches to evaluation, as well as the economic evaluation of digital health interventions.
Learners will be able to use and test their knowledge through interactive quizzes and peer-reviewed projects to critique emerging digital health treatments for COVID-19 and design an assessment strategy for a hospital wanting to trial and adopt a digital monitoring alert system for Sepsis.
