Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are business partners and fashion designers who are exceptionally talented. These two are definitely among the most famous fashion designers from Italy. In the late 1970s, the two met at a fashion house where they both worked as designers. Their relationship, however, did not ignite right away. Dolce left the fashion house after a year, and the two eventually reconnected when Stefano needed a place to live and the two became housemates.
The two formed an immediate bond. They realized how nicely their design styles complemented each other and began to investigate their joint potential. They began to collaborate on designs and began to construct the brand that is now known as Dolce & Gabbana. Dolce & Gabbana are known for transforming the typical masculine suit into a feminine emblem of strength and confidence. Early in their careers, the two celebrated designers developed leather pantsuits embellished with sequins, traditional pinstripes, and so much more.
They are known to say that fashion and dressing have nothing to do with being straight or gay, but rather that everyone has a part of the opposite sex inside them and that everyone needs to get in touch with that opposite side of their gender to be whole. They argue that it is only modern fashion that has caused men and women to dress so differently. Dolce & Gabbana's fashion house continues to have an impact on the fashion world decades after its launch in Milan, Italy. Dolce & Gabbana's brand continues to adapt and expand by encouraging young rising designers and pushing beyond fashion's traditional boundaries.
