Drop (formerly known as Massdrop) is an e-commerce platform and community-driven marketplace that specializes in offering a wide range of products, primarily in the enthusiast and tech space. The company was founded in 2012 and is based in San Francisco, California.

Drop collaborates with various manufacturers and brands to create and curate products specifically tailored to the interests and preferences of its community members. The platform operates on a model of group buys, where products are made available for a limited time and at discounted prices based on the collective purchasing power of the community.

Mechanical keyboards are one of Drop's significant areas of focus. To create distinctive keyboard kits, keycap sets, and other keyboard accessories, they collaborate closely with keyboard designers and manufacturers. Keyboard fans may find these goods appealing because they frequently have distinctive designs, adjustable features, and premium materials.

The original Holy Panda switch, a beloved favorite seen on many keyboards, was made by the community by joining the stem of our Drop Halo switch with housings from the Invyr Panda Linear Switch. Although the creation had a genuinely distinctive sound and an incredibly pleasing tactile sensation, it wasn't without its problems.

When two separate switches are disassembled and combined, there may be a number of consistency problems, particularly if the components aren't really intended to function as a unit. Numerous unlicensed Panda variations have been developed from this original "Frankenswitch" in an effort to duplicate or enhance the Holy Panda's signature.
