Duolingo
Duolingo is a language learning project written by computer science professors Luis von Ahn and Severin Hacker at Carnegie Mellon University (USA) in June 2012. After only two years, Duolingo has 15 million regular users out of 38 million subscribers and received $38.3 million from investors. Duolingo offers learners many popular languages such as French, German, Spanish, Japanese and more than 30 other languages worldwide. Lessons in the Duolingo app are divided into units with their own topics. Each unit includes many different lessons and each lesson is divided into 5 levels with increasing difficulty. In addition to providing language courses, Duolingo also offers short assessments when learners complete a unit in the course. With Duolingo, you can learn foreign languages anytime, anywhere, and are more flexible than ever.
