The Economist's editorial approach is generally centered on classical, social, and, most significantly, economic liberalism. It has favored policies and governments that adhere to centrist politics since the concept's inception in the late twentieth century. The publication usually advocates economic liberalism, specifically free markets, free trade, free immigration, deregulation, and globalization. Despite a strong editorial stance, it is regarded as having little reporting bias and employing rigorous fact-checking and copyediting.
