Ecosia
Christian Kroll established the social enterprise Ecosia in Berlin in 2009. The major goal of Ecosia's establishment was to aid in financing tree-planting and restoration initiatives. With the money it gets from the searches, Ecosia will plant trees in vulnerable locations for each search a user conducts using its website or free browser extension. Ecosia has supported 146 million trees to this point. The popularity of Ecosia is rising, but it is particularly well-liked in Germany, where the business is founded. Ecosia has increased its market share among search engines by 0.11% globally. Bing fuels Ecosia, just like it does Yahoo! By including advertisements in its search results, Ecosia generates revenue to fund the planning of trees. Ecosia receives a small cut of each ad click. An estimated 45 searches are required to pay for the planting of one tree.
Bing, which Ecosia utilizes, may produce less relevant results than Google. The search results might not be as thorough as they would be on Google as a result of this. Like all search engines, Ecosia makes money from advertisements. The advertisements, however, might not be as pertinent or customized as they would be on Google given that it is a smaller search engine.
