Employees Only
Employees Only, another one of the early entrants to NYC's most recent speakeasy boom, was constructed in 2004 by professionals in the field. It has been able to endure and even increase in popularity for almost two decades thanks to the lovely illuminated Art Deco lines and fantastic cocktails inside.
In one exciting scene from the movie Employees Only, a group of devoted patrons and influential people vie for the attention of the bartenders in chef coats. Employees Only is one of the more inclusive craft cocktail bars in the city, offering enough nerd-baiting drinks to appease connoisseurs without alienating the general public.
The floral Provencal, a silky blend of gin infused with lavender, vermouth steeped with herbs of Provence, and Cointreau, is a drink that is perfect for sipping. A Hi-Octane Fix, made with aged rum and scotch, Cocchi di Torino vermouth, Grand Marnier, and bitters, is available for more experienced drinkers. Delicious bar fare is prepared by Chef Julia Jaksic; if you hang around until closing, they'll give you a free bowl of chicken soup before sending you on your way.
