Equinox Holdings is a holding corporation that owns Equinox, Equinox Hotels, Precision Run, PURE Yoga, Blink Fitness, and SoulCycle, among other health and fitness businesses.

The first Equinox club opened in Manhattan in 1991, and the corporation has since grown to 106 sites in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It's known for being a high-end fitness and leisure brand, and membership fees reflect that. A membership costs at least $2,500 per year, and that's only if you want access to one location.

Equinox clubs strive to make their high membership fees worthwhile by offering a diverse range of programs and making their gym locations as convenient as possible. This is especially true in New York City's Manhattan, where an Equinox club can be found every eight blocks.
