Erawan Falls
One of Thailand's most well-known waterfalls is found in Erawan National Park, which is situated in the Tenasserim Hills region of Kanchanaburi Province. The 7-tiered Erawan Falls with emerald green pools is the park's main draw. The three-headed white elephant from Hindu mythology inspired the naming of the waterfall. According to legend, the highest tier of the falls looks like an elephant's head. Mixed deciduous woods surround the falls, with dry evergreen and deciduous dipterocarp forests at higher elevations.
A few hundred meters from the tourist center, the first tier of the falls is well-signposted. Only the first two lower tiers are accessible by bicycle, which may be rented for 20 Baht/day at the tourist center area. Visits to Phra That Cave, Death Railway, Hellfire Pass, and Bridge Over the River Kwai might all be coupled with a tour to Erawan Falls.
