Ethio Telecom, headquartered in Addis Ababa, is part of the Ethiopian government's "Big 5" public enterprises along with Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopia Commercial Bank.
The Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC), is a telecommunication company serving as the major internet and telephone service provider. In August 2019, the company announced that it would install 4G network before other telecom companies entered the Ethiopian market since the government decided that it would liberalize the telecom sector.
