At the age of 25, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel became a billionaire. 293 million people use Snapchat every day to send vanishing photographs and videos. In 2011, Spiegel and Bobby Murphy, a Stanford University fraternity buddy, founded the startup. Murphy and Spiegel hold around a quarter of Snap, but they have voting shares that allow them to dominate the board of directors.
He earned a B.S. in product design from Stanford in 2018, six years after dropping out to launch Snapchat. More than $280 million in Snap stock has been donated by Spiegel. He and Murphy have committed to giving the Snap Foundation 13 million shares.
