EWG
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is an environmental non-governmental organization that aims to enhance public health through in-depth research and education, as well as to inform consumers about prudent choices that would improve their quality of life. EWG was founded in the United States in 1992 and has made numerous contributions to three main political fields: chemicals and human health, investment in agriculture, land and natural resources. The Environmental Working Group created Skin Deep, a cosmetic safety database based on data from the same industry's toxicological and regulatory databases.
EWG conducts consumer research to raise awareness about the link between a cleaner environment and healthier living. Pesticides in crop production, toxic food additives, BPA, and other harmful compounds in regularly used plastics are also discussed in the articles. With sections like "Food," "Water," "Children's Health," and "Agriculture," the site focuses on in-depth research demonstrating potentially dangerous components in items like detergents and shampoos. Visitors can also sign up for the EWG newsletter, give to support the team's work, or donate a portion of their Amazon purchases via Amazon Smile. Consumers turn to EWG for facts and recommendations to help them make purchasing and lifestyle decisions, and EWG provides that information on an easy-to-use website with few distractions.
